“Train up a child in the way they should go; even when they are old they will not depart from it.” ‭‭   Proverbs‬ ‭22:6‬ ‭ESV‬
With soooooooooooo many fun songs out there, maybe there's an opportunity in front of us. By being strategic in the songs we choose to use with Kids, we can give them the fertile soil they need to root their values and convictions in.
We home-schooled our kids for two years when they were in elementary school. One of the modules we purchased for geography had songs included to help students memorize the continents and oceans of the world. They were extremely repetitive and yes, I have to admit they felt like the song that never ends!

...BUT THE SONGS WORKED!

Our kids are now adults, raising their own children, and I bet that if you asked them, they would still be able to sing those songs!
That’s why I love the opportunity music gives us! By creative repetition in lyric and song we have an immense window for a positive impact in a young child’s life. One that may continue on a playlist for life.

HERE'S AN EXAMPLE OF ONE:

“Wisdom TAUGHT is like the wind.
Wisdom LIVED is like a sail with wind,
THEY GO PLACES
...but a sail without wind never gets anywhere.”
 ‭‭
Mya & I recording 'Catch The Wave'Mya & I recording 'Catch The Wave'.
The power of worship music is incredible,
for the Holy Spirit inhabits praise and flows through the life that is living the lyric it sings about.

God encourages us to engage in conversation, to teach, train and instruct our children about their  ways and where it could lead them. We are not only to talk about it, but to act it out. Let's share our stories and life lessons, and God’s miraculous interventions and salvation AS WELL as live daily with his methods and characteristics.

You see, wisdom TAUGHT is like the wind. Wisdom LIVED is like a sail with wind, they go places ... but a sail without wind never gets anywhere.

Our words fall short if we don't live by them.
Our actions will do the same if we don't base them on God's wisdom.

For our children, (those in our homes, churches and schools) we have the responsibility over time, to train and instruct through what we say and what we do ... through who we are.
SONGS WORK!
Let's fill your homes with music that celebrates and teaches about Jesus.
Let's LIVE the LYRICS so our kids are able to BELIEVE them!‭‭
